Disruption at Heathrow and European Airports
Travel Alert – Heathrow & European Airports
A suspected cyber attack has targeted Collins Aerospace, a key provider for check-in and boarding systems at several major European airports including Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin.
Because of this, automated systems have gone down, forcing staff to carry out manual check-in and boarding operations. This is causing flight delays, cancellations, longer queues, and wait times.
Heathrow is advising passengers to check their flight status before travelling to the airport. For long-haul flights, aim to arrive around 3 hours in advance, for domestic or shorter flights, 2 hours is recommended.
